Generations Christmas 2022
featuring Bobby Nicholas and Trevor Dion Nicholas
December 15th, 2022 at 8:00PM - Morgantown, WV

Ring in the festive season with local singer Bobby Nicholas and his son, Trevor Dion Nicholas, for a father/son Christmas Celebration – raising money to continue to support the scholarship in the name of the late Doris Marilyn Nicholas and the West Virginia University School of Social Work. The concert will be held at Morgantown’s Metropolitan Theatre on High Street on December 15th, 2022.

A Morgantown native, Trevor’s talents have taken him to Broadway starring as Genie in Disney’s Aladdin. He played the same leading role in the West End London production of Aladdin, where he was awarded the WhatsOnStage Award for his outstanding performance. Most recently, Trevor starred as George Washington in the global smash hit Hamilton and stars as Present in the animated feature film Scrooge: A Christmas Carol streaming on Netflix this holiday season. Trevor Dion Nicholas also appears as an industry panelist and judge on the ITV program All Star Musicals alongside legends Elaine Page and Kristin Chenoweth. He can also be seen in the Emmy Award winning Disney’s Broadway Hits at Royal Albert Hall. Trevor’s breathtaking performance as Genie was filmed live at the Prince Edward Theatre and is currently awaiting release for streaming this year on Disney+.

Bobby Nicholas has been singing professionally since the age of 18, performing internationally and opening for global acts such as Ray Charles, Nancy Wilson, The Mandrell Sisters, Sawyer Brown, The Temptations, and Sammie Smith. He has also collaborated with musical artists Kenny Rogers, Madonna, and Comedian Tim Conway. Bobby has appeared nationally on The Charlie Daniels Show. Bobby’s most memorable accomplishment was performing at the National Victory Celebration in Washington, D.C. by invitation from the President of the United States of America. Bobby entertained the returning troops from Desert Storm with his originally composed song “Thank You.”

Doris Marilyn Nicholas, Bobby’s wife of 43 years and Trevor’s mother, earned a Doctorate in Education (Ed. D) from West Virginia University and retired as a Social Work Professor after 20 years of dedicated service at WVU. Doris was a remarkable and astoundingly accomplished advocate for education in the School of Social Work. She nobly focused her efforts, passing on her extensive knowledge to numerous students of color and those from disadvantaged homes. She dedicated her life’s work to opening doors to students with potential and providing them a path to betterment. She also used social work as a channel to bring greater benefit to the world at large. Doris spent 12 years as the Director of Social Services at Ruby Memorial Hospital where she led the development of its medical ethics program. The unexpected passing of Doris Marilyn Nicholas on January 8, 2021 brought an outpouring of love and support from the Morgantown community, especially from the thousands of students whose lives she had touched over the years. The establishment of the Doris Nicholas Social Work Scholarship for Minority Students will allow her legacy to live on and continue to change the lives of not only young people through advanced education but to the diverse communities surrounding them.
